วัดอินทรวิหารในปี พ.ศ.2460

  ขณะนั้นท่านพระครูธรรมานุกุล (หลวงปู่ภู จันทเกสโร) ยังคงเป็นเจ้าอาวาสอยู่ ได้เกิดเหตุการณ์เกี่ยวกับการลองดีด้วยคุณไสยที่น่าสนใจอย่างยิ่ง
    หลวงปู่ภูท่านเป็นพระที่เชี่ยวชาญด้านพระเวทวิทยาคม ท่านได้ช่วยผู้คนจากการถูกกระทำด้วยคุณไสยไว้มากมาย ซึ่งน่าจะเป็นสาเหตุให้ท่านถูกปองร้ายด้วยคุณไสยมาครั้งหนึ่ง ดังที่คุณตาทองดำคชเสนี ได้เล่าเรื่องที่ตัวเองได้เห็นมากับตาว่า หลวงปู่ภูจะออกกำลังด้วยการใช้ไม้กวาดด้ามยาวปัดกวาดลานหน้ากุฏิและเลยไปจนถึงพื้นที่ใกล้เคียง เช้าวันนั้นเป็นวันที่อากาศแจ่มใส คุณตาทองดำสังเกตเห็นว่าหลวงปู่ภูหยุดกวาด แล้วมองไปซ้ายทีขวาทีจึงเดินกวาดต่อไปอย่างเงียบๆ

  ทันไดนั้นท่านก็หยุดกวาด แล้วยกปลายไม้กวาดด้ามยาวขึ้นปัดในอากาศ ตอนแรกก็ปัดอากาศเปล่างๆ แต่พออีกครั้งหนึ่งก็ได้ยินเสียงดังเปรี้ยงติดตามมา

   แล้วหลวงปู่ภูก้มลงกวาดพื้นต่อไปอย่างเงียบๆ คราวนี้มีเสียงหวีดดังแหวกอากาศมา หลวงปู่ภูท่านจึงยืนหยัดเท้ามั้นอยู่กับพื้นแล้วใช้สองมือยกได้กวาดด้าวยาวขึ้นหวดเหมือนจะรับอะไรสักอย่างเต็มแรง

   เป็นถนัดว่้าท่านถอยไปบ้างหลังสองก้าว ก่อนจะมีเสียงดังติดตามมาจนได้ยินถนัดหู เปรี๊ยะ พึ่บ ตึง  เสียงเปรี๊ยะเป็นเสียงที่ด้ามไมักวาดด้ามยาวกระทบกับของในอากาศ (ต่อมาคุณตาทองดำได้ดูปรากฏว่าด้ามไม้ักวาดแตกออกเป็น 2 เสี่ยง)  เสียงพึ่บเป็นเสียงคล้ายอะไรสักอย่าง ถูกแรงตวัดตอบกระเด็นไปทางกุฏิ ส่วนเสียงตึง  เป็นเสียงของหนักตกลงกระทบพื้นชานห้านกุฏิหลวงปู่ภู

   คุณตาทองดำได้ยินเสียงหลวงปู่ภูร้องเรียก จึงละจากการรดน้ำต้นไมั้หน้ากุฏิมาหาหลวงปู่ภู มันส่งเนื้อวัดสดๆ มาให้กู แต่กูตีมันกระเด็นไปบนชานกุฏิกูแล้ว มึงขึ้นขึ้นไปรอกูก่อน เดี๋ยวกูจะตามขึ้นไปอย่าไปยุ่งกับเนื้อนั่นไม่งั้นก็ช่วยไม่ได้

   คุณตาทองดำขึ้นไปรอหลวงปู่ภูบนกุฏิ ครู่หนึ่งหลวงปู่ภูก็ขึ้นมาท่านเดินอ้อมก้อนเนื้อขนาดใหญ่น้ำหนักไม่ตำ่กว่า 5 กิโลกรัม สีแดงสด เลือดยังเลอะพื้นกระดาน ท่านไปตักน้ำมนต์หน้าทีู่บูชาของท่านมา 1 จอก แล้วภาวนาคาถาเสกน้ำมนต์ครู่หนึ่งเทลงไปยังก้อนเนื้อปรากฏว่ามีควันสีเขียวลอยขึ้นมาแล้วหายไป
   เอ้า พวกมึงเอาไปทำอะไรกินกัน เนื้อสันเปื่อยๆ มันส่งมาเป็นของขวัญพวกมึงไงล่ะ

  สามวันต่อมา  ขณะหลวงปู่ภูกำลังกวาดลานวันตอนเช้า แขกแปลกหน้าก็มาพบท่าน เป็นแขกจริงๆ  นุ่งโสร่ง มีหมวกสวมศรีษะมาด้วยกัน 3 คน มาถึงก็มายืนต่อหน้าหลวงปู่ภู  ในมือมีถาดใส่ผลไม้มาด้วย

   พวกเรามาถวายผลไม้กับท่าน  ท่านเก่งจริงๆ สนมารถสกัดวิชาของพวกเราได้  แล้วยังมีเมตตาไม่ส่งกลับ  พวกเรานับถือท่าน  หลวงปู่ภูจึงถามแขกแปลกหน้าว่า  แล้วหลักศาสนาเขาไม่ถือหรือ ที่เอาของมาให้คนนอกศาสนาอย่างนี้  แขก 3 คนที่มาได้ตอบว่า   ไม่ผิดหรอก เพราะเราไม่ได้ยกมือไหว้ท่าน เราไม่ได้นับถือศาสนาท่าน  แต่เราถวายท่านเป็นการส่วนตัว อย่างนี้ไม่ผิดหลัก ศาสนา

    ชายแปลกหน้าทั้้งสามบอกกับหลวงปู่ภู่ว่ามีผู้ว่าจ้างให้ทำร้ายผู้คน แต่หลายรายมาหาหลวงปู่ภู่ว่ามีผู้ว่าจ้างให้ทำร้ายผู้คน แต่หลายรายมาหาหลวงปู่ภูและได้รคับการแก้ไขจนของร้ายออกจากตัว ทำให้พวกเขาขาดรายได้ไปมากอยู่เหมือนกันจึงร่วมกันเสก

ของมาทำร้ายหลวงปู่ภูแต่ก็ถูกแก้ได้อีก และหากหลวงปู่ภู่ส่งของกลับพวกเขาก็จะต้องตายแต่หลวงปู่ภูไม่ทำ
 
   ต่อมาเมื่อวันหนึ่งในปี พ.ศ. 2465  ตอนบ่าย ก็ได้มีผู้นำเอาร่างของชายวัยกลางคนที่สลบไสลไม่ได้สติมาหาหลวงปู่ภูภูที่กุฏิเสียงลั่น

  หลวงปู่ภูช่วยพี่เฉยด้วยเป็นอะไรไม่รู้ล้างหน้าอยู่ดีๆ  ก็ร้องโอยหงายหลังตึงไม่ได้สติ แก้ไขก็ไม่ฟื้น ต้องช่วยกันนำมาจากปราจีนบุรีโน่น ไม่มีใครเป็นที่พึ่งแล้ว

   หลวงปู่ภูให้กามขึ้นไปบนกุฏิ ท่านไปนำไม้พ่อครูขนาดใหญ่ของท่านมากดที่หน้าผากของคนไข้ เป่าลมลงไป 3  ครั้งแล้วเสกน้ำมนต์ใหั้ช่วยกันงัดปากคนไข้แล้วกรอกน้ำมนต์เข้าไป พอน้ำมนต์ล่วงลำคอเข้าไปเสียงท้องคนไข้ก็ลั่นโครก มีเสียงลมระบายแล้วลืมตาลุึกนั่งทำคอขย้อน

  ภรรยานำกระโถนมาให้อาเยียนเป็นน้ำสีเขียวๆออกมาก่อนแล้วตามด้วยเส้นผมสีดำๆ อีก 1 ผอยใหญ่ๆ ออกมาทีละปอยๆ จนเกือบค่อนกระโถนจึงหมด แล้วคนใข้หงายหลังลงนอนด้วยความอ่อนเพลีย

   จากนั้นหลวงปู่ภูต้องเสกข้าวสารให้ต้มกินจีงหายจากอาการอ่อนเพลีย คนไข้จึงสามารถเล่าเรื่องที่ตัวเองโดนของให้ท่านฟังว่า

   เขาย้ายจากกรุงเทพ ไปอยู่ประจำคุกที่ปราจีนบุรี ในตำแหน่งพัศดีเรือนจำ เขาเป็นคนตงฉินไม่รับสินบาทคาดสินบนจัดการเจ้าหน้าที่ทุจริตจนเข้าคุกและถูกปลดไหลายราย เป็นเหตุให้เช้าวันนั้นเขาออกมายืนล้างหน้าที่หน้าตางก็มีนกตัวดำๆบินมาชนหน้าผากจนหมดสติมารู้ตัวอีกทีก็เมือหลวงปู่ช่วยไว้

  ท่านผู้นั้นคือพัศดีเฉย เมฆหิมพานต์ที่อดีตเคยเป็นเพชฌฆาตตัดคอนักโทษด้วยดาบมาก่อนที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระมหาธีรราชเจ้าจะทรงให้เปลี่ยนมาเป็นการยิงเป้าแทนการตัดคอ
   ต่อมาท่านได้เกษียณราชการ และหลวงปู่ภูได้ทำไม้ครูขนาดเล็กติดตัวใหไปเพื่อใชั้ในการป้องกันคุณไสยในที่สุด

  นอกจาเเรื่องราวการสยบคุณไสยของหลวงปู่่ภู่แล้ว จะขอนำไปพบกับเหตุการณ์ตอนหนึ่งซึ่งพระเกจิอาจารย์ที่เราท่านรู้จักกันเป็นอย่างดีอย่างหลวงพ่อคูณ ปริสุทโธ  ได้ประสบพบพานกับอำนาจไสยดำ
ที่มีผู้ไม่หวังดีกระทำต่อตัวท่านอย่างจงใจโดยไม่เกรงกลัวปาบเวร
   เป็นที่รู้จักกันอยู่ว่าหลวงพ่อคูณ ปริสุทโธ เกจิอาจารย์ผู้โด่งดัง แห่งวัดบ้านไร่ ตำบลกุตพิมาน อำเภอด่านขุนทด  จังหวัดนครราชสีมา ท่านเคยผจญกับสิงสาราสัตว์และภูตผีวิญญาณมามากมาย หรือแม้แต่พวกพ่อมดหมอผีที่โด่งดังทางไสยศาสตร์มนต์ดำ  หลวงพ่อคูณท่านก็เจอมาแล้วเช่นกัน

  และท่านก็สามารถเอาตัวรอดมาได้ทุกครั้งด้วยศิลปศาสตร์ทางคาถาอาคมที่ล้ำลึก และที่เราจะกล่าวถึงหลวงพ่อคูณในบรรทัดต่อไปนี้ จะกล่าวถึงเฉพาะตอนที่ท่านได้ผจญกับหมอผีชาวบ้านป่าที่สองดีกับท่านในครั้งหนึ่ง ขณะท่านออกธุดงค์ไปตามป่าตามเขา เพราะไปขัดผลประโยชน์เขานั่นเอง

  ตอนที่หลวงพ่อคูณบำเพ็ญภาวนา อยู่ที่ภูควาย จนมีความคุณเคยกับชาวบ้านและปจญกับบภูตผีวิญญาณอย่างเอกอุ  รวมทั้งเสือโคร่งตัวเท่าม้าคอยติดตามอยู่ตลอดเวลา เพื่อจะเอาชีวิต หรือเป็นอารักขาหรือเปล่าไม่มีผู้ใดได้ล่วงรู้จิดใจเสือ
   กับชาวบ้านหลวงพ่อคูณได้รับคึวามศรัทธาเลื่อมใสยิ่งนัก นอกจากท่านจะนำคำสั่งสอนของพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าออกเผยแพร่แลั้วหลวงพ่อคูณท่านยังช่วยเยียวยารักษาคนป่วยจากโรคร้ายต่างๆด้วยสมุนไพร ทำให้เกิดความศรัทธาอย่างแรงกล้า
  แต่ภายใต้ความศัรทธาของชาวบ้านป่านั้น กลับไปขัดผลประโยชน์กับหมอผีอยู่กลุ่มหนึ่งที่เคยทำมาหากินกับชาวบ้านมาช้านานซึ่งทำการรักษาด้วยวิธีการทางไสยศาสตร์และสมุนไพรที่รู้มางูๆปลาๆ ทำให้อาการป่วยของชาวบ้านไม่หาย ต้องเจ็บป่วยล้มตายเป็นจำนวนมาก
    มาทุเลาเบาบางลงก็ตอนที่หลวงพ่อคูณเข้าช่วยรักษาเยียวยา นี่แหละคือเหตุแห่งการอาฆาตลองดีหมายเอาชีวิต
   ขั้นแรกพวกมันทำด้วยวิธีเบาะๆ ก่อนคือตกกลางคืนพวกมันจะทำเป็นผีไปหลอก เอาไม้ไปขว้างปาหรือไม่ก็ทำเป็นเสียงเสือคำรามขู่เท่านั้น แต่ต่อมาเริื่องก็ลุกลามใหญ่โตขึ้น พวกหมอผีจุึงตกลงกันเรียบร้อย เพื่อเดินทางขึ้นไปหาหลวงพ่อคูณที่กำลับบำเพ็ญเพียรอยู่บนภูควาย โดยพวกมันขึ้นไปเป็นกลุ่มอย่างเงียบๆ

  ในขณะเดียวกันหลวงพ่อคูณกำลับบำเพ็ญภาวนาอยู่ ก็มีความรู้สึกว่ามีคนไม่ต่ำกว่า 2 คนกำลังเดินมายัง กลดของท่าน ท่านนิ่งและเงี่ยหูฟังอย่างสงบเพราะยังไม่ค่อยจะมั่นใจว่าจะเสียงเดินทางมานั้นเป็นคนหรือเป็นสัตว์  แทนที่ท่านจะกลัวจนลนลานกลับตรงกันข้ามท่านกลับพินิจพิจารณาเพียงอย่างเดียว หัวใจของท่านหาได้วอกแวกไม่
   จากนั้นท่านก็ร่ายพระเวทขับไล่ออกไป แทนที่เสียงนั้นจะหยุดหรือเกิปฎิกิริยาโต้ตอบกลับเงียบ นอกจากเสียงเดินใกล้มาเป็นลำดับ   จากนั้นท่านก็ได้ยินเสียงดังงึมงำสลับด้วยเสียงของก้อนหินหล่นลงใกล้กับกลดของท่าน มันเป็นอย่างนี้อยู่เกือบชั่วโมง
    แรกๆ ท่านก็คิดไปว่าเป็นการกระทำของพวกภูตผีวิญญาณแต่พอมาวิเคราะห์อีกที หากเป็นการกระทำของพวกผีพวกวิญญาณมันก็มีการตอบโต้บ้างแล้ว  แต่นี่มันยังไม่ยอมเลิกรา ท่านจึงมีความมั่นใจว่าเป็นการกระทำของคนที่ไม่หวังดีอย่างแน่นอน  ท่านจึงได้ตะโกนสวนกลับก้อนหินที่หล่นลงกระทบพื้นด้วยเสียงงึมงำว่า   พวกมึงมีอะไรกะกูก็ออกมาพูดกันดีๆ พวกมึงไม่ต้องมาทำลับๆล่อๆ กะกูอย่าอยู่ กูรู้ว่าพวกมึงนั้นเป็นสัตว์ประเสิรฐ์ กูคิดว่าพวกมึงก็คงออกมาพูดกะกูรู้เรื่อง
    บรรดาหมอผีเมื่อเจอเข้าไม้นี้ก็ชักไม่แน่ใจเสียแล้ว  เพราะพระรูปนี้ไม่ใช่พระธรรมดาอย่างที่คิด  เมื่อพวกมันคิดได้ดังนั้นก็เผ่นลงจากดอยทันที  แต่แทนที่พวกมันจะเกรงกลัวกลับกำเริมเสิบสานหนักข้อขึ้นไปอีก
    อย่างนี้มันต้องเสกหนังความเข้าท้องให้มันตายไปเลย  ในเมื่อมันมาทำลายผลประโยชน์ของเรา พวกเราเอาอย่างนี้ก็แล้วกัน พรุ่งนี้เราทำกับข้าวไปให้มันกิน  แล้วเอาหนังความเสกไปให้มันรองนั่งกินถ้ามันกินเพลินเมื่อไหร่ หนังความเสกของเราจะห่อตัวให้เล็กลงแล้วเข้าไปในท้องของมัน
    มันจะได้รับความทรมารที่สุดเมื่อหนังควายเสกไปบานในท้องมัน มันจะปวดอย่างที่สุดแล้วก็ตาย และพวกกับข้าวเราก็เอาหนาม เอาพวกก้อนหินเสกเอาพวกก้อนหินเสกบังตามันให้เป็นข้าว  เมื่อมันกินเข้าไปหนามก็จะแทงลำใส้ขจองมันแล้วก็ทรมานตายในที่สุด
   พวกหมอผีทำแบบไม่รู้บุญรู้บาป  มันไม่สนใจหรอกว่าการฆ่าพระฆ่าเจ้านั้นเป็นบาปมหันต์ มันรู้แต่เพียงผลประโยชน์ที่พึงได้เล็กๆน้อยๆและความศรัทธาจากชาวบ้านคืนมาสู่พวกมันเท่านั้น และในเช้าวันรุ่งขึ้นพวกมันได้เอากับข้าวไปถวายหลวงพ่อคูณบนภูควายด้วยใบหน้าที่ยิ้มระรื่น เหมือนไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้นเป็นการกลบเกลื่อน
   หลวงพ่อครับ  กระผมนำข้าวปลาอาหารมาถวาย ขอท่านรับและฉันตามสบาย
   มันพูดพร้อมกับถวายสำรับกับข้าว "เอาเถอะกูจะฉลองศรัทธาของพวกมึง"
  แต่หลวงพ่อคูณนั้นท่านผ่านเรื่องราวแบบนี้มากมาย ท่านจึงรู้เท่าทันอุกอย่าง ก่อนที่ท่านจะรับสิ่งของจากผู้ไม่หวังดีนั้นท่านได้มองสีหน้าและท่าทางด้วยจิตว่าพวกมันมาดีหรือมาร้าย ถึงจะรู้ท่านก็ฉลองศรัทธาอย่างเต็มที่  ไม่ปฏิเสธกับข้าวคาวหวานที่อยู่ในถาด
   จากนั้นพวกมันได้เอาหนังควายออกมาปู แล้วนิมนต์ให้หลวงพ่อคูณขึ้นไปนั่งเพื่อฉันอาหารที่พวกมันยกมาถวาย ท่านก็ฉลองศรัทธาด้วยเช่นกัน
   หลังจากนั้นท่านก็ได้นั่งพิจารณาดูกับข้าวที่อยู๋บนถาดอย่างถี่ถ้วน พร้อมกับได้ร่ายพระเวทในใจแล้วเป่าสำทับลงไปเป็นการทำบายมนต์ดำของชาวบ้านแบบหนามยอกก็เอาหนามบง
   เพราะหลวงพ่อคูณท่านเรียนผูกและเรียนแก้มาแล้ว ท่านจึงไม่หวั่นไหวอะำไรแม้แต่น้อย และแน่นอนเมื่อพวกมันเล่นบังตาด้วยอาคมท่านก็บ้งตาพวกมันบ้าง  จากนั้นท่านก็ฉันอาหารอย่องเอร็ดอร่อย

"เสร็จกูแน่"  พวกมันคิดในใจ แต่หารู้ไม่ว่าขณะที่ท่านฉันอาหารไปนั้นท่านคอยระวังอยู่ตลอดเวลา ท่านไม่ประมาทแม้แต่เสี้วยวินาทีเดียว หนังควายเสกที่ท่านนั่งทับอยู่มันกำลังหดตัวเข้าทีึ่ละนิดๆ ท่านก็คอยเป่าอาคมลงไปมันก็คลายออก
   สู้กันอยู่อย่างนี้จนกระทั่งท่านได้ฉันอาหารเสร็จ พวกมันก็เอาแต่ยิ้มด้วยควรามคิดที่ว่า  เสร็จแน่ๆ
   กูฉลองศรัทธาของพวกมึงแล้ว  อาหารทีเหลือพวกนี้กูฝากไปให้ลูกเมียพวกมึงกนกัน อย่าลืมนะเอาไปกินฉลองศรัทธาของกูบ้างเอ้าเอาไป แล้วพวกมึงกลับไปได้แล้วลูกเมียมึงคอย กูจะทำวัตรสวดมนต์อันเป็นกิจสงฆ์

    พวกหมอผีที่เอาอาหารมาถวายหลวงพ่อคูณ หวังจะฆ่าให้ตายด้วยคุณไสยหนังควายและหนามเสก แต่ไม่อาจจะทำอะไรได้พวกมันจึงรีบลงจากภูควายกลับไปบ้าน แล้วนำอาหารสำรับนั้นให้ลูกเมียกินกันอย่างเอร็ดอร่อย

   แต่พอตกบ่ายเ่ท่านั้นเอง บรรดาลูกเมียต่างพากันปวดท้องร้องโอดโอยปานจะขาดใจตาย พวกมันพยายามทำน้ำมนต์ให้ดื่มแต่ก็ไม่หาย จึงจำเป็นต้องไปพึ่งหลวงพ่อคูณบนภูควายให้ช่วยรักษาเยียวยา
   พวกมึงพากันมาหากูอีกทำอะไร เฮ้อ แต่ก่อนที่พวกมึงจะทำทำไมไม่คิดกันบ้างหรือ  พวกมึงคิดว่าพวกมึงวิเศษกว่าใครๆ นะสิ เป็นไงพอโดนเข้าบ้าง กูคิดแล้วว่าพวกมึงจะต้องกลับมาหากูอีก

   พวกหมอผีได้ก้มลงกราบพร้อมกับสารภาพผิดที่คิดฆ่าพระฆ่าเจ้า พวกผมทั้งหมดสารภาพ

   พวกผมทั้งหมดสารภาพผิดครับหลวงพ่อ  พวกผมเห็นผิดเป็นชอบไปจริงๆ พวกผมขออภัย หลวงพ่อยกโทษให้พวกผมด้วยและช่วยลูกเมียของผมด้วยเถอะครับ  พวกเขากำลังได้รับความทุกข์ทรมานเป็นที่สุด  อีกอย่างพวกเขาไม่มีส่วนรู้เห็นใดๆ ในการกระทำของพวกผมเลย ถ้าหากท่านไม่ช่วยลูกเมียของพวกหมอผีแล้วให้เกิดคยวามเวทนาสงสาร
   เออ......กูจะช่วยพวกมึงเอากุศล ที่หลังพวกมึงสังสรเอาไว้บ้างคนที่เก่งกว่าพวกมึงยังมีอีกเยอะ แล้วนี่พวกมึงบาปหนารู้ไหม ที่พวกมึงคิดจะฆ่าพระ ถ้าพวกมึงฆ่ากูสำเร็จพวกมึงจะได้รับกรรมอย่างมหันต์พวกมึงจะได้ลงอเวจี  เรียกว่าไม่ได้ผุดได้เกิดเลยที่เดียว เอาล่ะพวกมึงไปตักน้ำมา กูจะทำน้ำมนต์ให้ลูกเมียมึงกินเร็วล่ะ  ไม่งั้นลูกเมียของพวกมึงตายแน่
   ก็เท่านี้เองหลวงพ่อคูณก็เอาชนะใจของพวกหมอผี พร้อมสั่งสอนให้รู้จักบาปบุญและดีชั่ว จนได้รัความเลื่อมใสศรัทธาในเวลาต่อมา
    หลวงพ่อคูณจึงเปรียบเสมือนหนึ่งเทพเจ้าในหัวใจของพวกเขาทุกคนในหมู่บ้านชาวเขาภูควายนับแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา
