ศาลตะเคียน

    ชายเป็นนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 ของมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชนแห่งหนึ่ง ทุกๆปีองค์กรนิสิตจะต้องจัดกิจกรรมรับน้องใหม่ และสิ้นปีนี้มติที่ประชุมลงความเห็นกันว่าเลื่อกอุทยานแห่งชาติแห่งหนึ่งในจังหวัดทางภาคเหนือเป็นที่รับน้อง
   ชายจะต้องเดินทางล่วงหน้าไปกับเพื่อนๆ เพื่อดูสถานที่และทำซุ้รับน้อง เมื่่อเดินทางไปถึงชายกับเพื่อนๆ ก็รีบทำซุ้มทันที่ กว่าจะเสร็จก็ปาเข้าไปหกโมงเย็นใกล้โพล้เพล้เต็มทีแล้ว ชายและเพื่อนๆ จึงเดินทางกลับที่พัก ระหว่างที่เดินกลับมาก็หยอกล้อกันอย่างสนุกสนานเสียงใครคนหนึ่งก็พูดขึ้นว่า

      เฮ้ย ถ้าคืนนี้ผีมาหลอกจะทำยังไงดีวะ
      ไม่ต้องกลัว กูเอาพระมาด้วย
       อีกคนหนึ่งตอบเสียงคะนองไม่แพ้กัน ชายใจหายวูบนิดนึง แล้วจึงพูดเบรกเพื่อนๆว่า
      กลางป่ากลางเขาอย่างนี้ โบราณว่าไม่ให้พูดเรื่องผีเรื่องสางกันนะโว้ย

       เพื่อนๆในกลุ่มที่เดินทางมาด้วยต่างหัวเราะกับสิ่งที่ชายพูดและก็พากันเปลี่ยนไปพูดเรื่องอื่นแทน

     เมื่อเดินถึงที่พัก ทุกคนก็ต้องหยุดกึ๊กทันที พวกผู้หญิงถอยกรูด เมื่อเห็นต้นตะเคียนสูงใหญ่ต้นหนึ่ง ข้างๆกันนั้นมีศาลเล็กๆ อยู่ด้วย บรรยากาศในตอนนั้นเงียบสงัดลงทันที ชายรีบบอกเพื่อนๆให้ไปเก็บฟืน ส่วนตัวเขานั้นแยกมากับเพื่อนอีกคนที่ชื่่อโอ้ เพื่อตรงไปยังศาลใต้ต้นตะเคียน

      ต้องบอกเจ้าที่เจ้าทางก่อน
   ชายบอกโอ้พร้อมกับทรุดตัวลงนั่งไหว้ศาลและบอกกล่าวแก่ศาลที่ใต้ต้นตะเคียนว่ามาขออาศัยค้างคืนที่นี่ชั่วคราว หากมีการล่วงเกินสิ่งใดไปก็ต้องขออภัยไว้ด้วย

      สักพักมีลมพัดมาวูบหนึ่ง กิ่งไม้ผุ่ๆ ร่วงลงมาข้างๆ ชายขนลุกซู่รีบบอกให้โอ้ลุกออกไปเพราะใกล้มือแล้ว ทั้งคู่รีบเดินกลับที่พัก

      พอตอนหัวค่ำ ทั้งหมดตั้งวงร้องเพลง เล่นกีตาร์ กินเหล้าอยู่หน้าบ้านพักนั่นเอง ชายกับโอ้นั่งหันหน้าไปทางด้านตัวบ้านที่มือพอเห็นลางๆ จากแสงโคมไฟที่สาดส่อง ราวๆ สามทุ่มเศษชายเริ่มมึนนิดๆ จึงขอต้วลุกออกจากวงเพื่อที่จะไปเข้าห้องน้ำ แต่ก่อนที่จะลุกไป

    ทันใดนั้นเอง

    สายตาของชายก็มองเห็นร่างของใครคนหนึ่งเดินอยู่บนระเบียงบ้านพัก จึงหันกลับไปดูี่ี่ที่กลุ่มเพื่อนๆ  ว่ามีใครหายไปบ้างหรือเปล่า

   ปรากฏว่า  อยู่กันครบนี่หว่า
ชายอุทานในใจ ตาก็มองไปเบื้องหน้าแสงไฟจากโคมไฟอีกครั้งมำให้เห็นว่าร่างนั้นเป็นร่างของหญิงผมยาวสลวย นุ่งผ้าถุงแดงห่มสใบเฉียงเขียวอ่อน ชายเริ่มนึกถึงคำของคนโบราณที่ว่านางไม้มักจะชอบใส่เสื้อผ้าแบบนี้ ชายสะกิดโอ้ที่นั่งอยู่ข้างๆ พร้อมกับชี้มือไปที่ร่่างนั้น โอ้มองตามและเบิกตากว้าง

     เหมือนร่างนั้นหันมายิ้มให้ ชายใจเต้นรัว แล้วร่างนั้นก็หายไปกับตา โอ้รีบกระซิบถามเพื่อนทันที

    เฮ้ย เห็นเหมือนกันรึเปล่าวะ
    อืม เห็นแล้ว ผู้หญิงว่ะ สงสัยเป็นนางไม้ อย่าเอะอะไปน่ะเดี๋ยวก็พากันตกใจหมดพอดี

  ชายบอก โอ้รีบพยักหน้าตาม และคืนนั้นทั้งสองคนก็เกาะติดกันแจ จนใครๆ อาจจะเข้าใจผิดคิดได้ว่าเป็นคู่รักคู่ใหม่ที่นิยมชมชอบไม้ป่าเดียวกัน แต่ความจริงแล้วไม่มีใครรู้หรอกว่า ทั้งคู่กลัวผีแค่ไหน
   เหตุการณ์ในคืนนั้นผ่านไปด้วยดีโดยไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้น
   จนกระทั่งมาถึงคืนที่จะต้องรับน้อง

   มีการเ่นแคมป์ไฟอย่างสนุกสนาน ชาวบ้านแถวนั้นมายืนดู 2-3 กลุ่ม และสายตาของชายก็เหลือบไปเห็นใครคนหนึ่งหน้าตาคุ้นๆ เธอเป็นหญิงสาวนุ่งห่มด้วยผ้าแบบชาวบ้าน อะไรบางอย่างทำให้ชายเดินเข้าไปคุยกับเธอ

    พักสบายหรือเปล่าค่ะ  เธอถามพร้อมกับยิ้มให้เขา
    ห็ดีฮะ แต่เมื่อคืนก่อน
    ชายชะงักไป ไม่แน่ใจว่าจะเล่าให้เธอฟังดีหรือไม่
    อ๋อ เขามาดี คุณโชคดีละที่ได้เห็นน่ะ คนแถวนี้มีหลายคนที่อยากเห็นแค่ไม่่่เ่คยเห็นเลย

    เธอพูดเสียงนิ่มๆ ดวงตาเป็นประกาย  ชายแปลกใจที่เธอรู้ได้อย่างไรว่าเมื่อคืนก่อนนั้นเขาเจออะไรบ้าง
   อ้าว ชายยืนคุยกับใครอยู่วะ   โอ้เดินเข้ามาทัก ชายหันกลับไปตอบว่า
   คุณคนนี้ไง อ้าว หายไปไหนแล้วล่ะ


   พอชายหันไปอีกที ผู้หญิงคนที่เขายืนคุยอยู่กับเธอเมื่อกี้ก็หายไปแล้ว
 ไม่เห็นมีใครเลย เห็นเอ็งยืนคุยอยู่คนเดียว
  โดนแล้วมั้ยล่ะ ชายขนลุกขึ้นมาทันที
  แต่เขาบอกว่าเขามาดีน่ะ

  ดูดคัยกันอยู่สักพักทั้งคู่ก็ชวนกันไปร่วมวงกับเพื่อนๆ และรุ่นน้องชายก็ยังไม่วายหันกลับไปดูที่ต้นตะเคียนนั่นอีกครั้ง

   สัปดาห์ต่อมาชายฝันเห็นผู้หญิงคนนั้นว่าเธอเข้ามาหาอีก นุ่งโจงกระเบน สไบเฉียงแบบโบราณ เธอบอกว่า่จะมาขอบคุณเขา และไม่ต้องกลัว เมื่อตื่นขึ้นมาชายก็ได้แต่งุนงงกับความฝันนั้น

   เขาจึงลองไปซื้อลอตเตอรี่มา 2 คู่  และพบว่าตัวเองถูกรางวัลเลขท้่ายสามตัว เขายังแอบนึกขำอยู๋เลยว่า หรือนี่จะเป็นคำขอบคุณที่เธอมีให้กับเขา
